Kathak dance at fundacao oriente, Lisbon

Founder of PGLX and former student of National Institute of Kathak, Kathak dancer and choreographer,  Eve ZANDI teaches a course of introduction to Indian classical Kathak dance in collaboration with the Fundaçao Oriente in Lisbon. 

The classes take place every Mondays from 18h to 19h30. Students will learn the basics of Kathak dance and Indian Classical music . 

A performance in the auditorium of the Fundaçao  will conclude the year. 

Fees: 35 euros per month. 

New registrations are open during the year.

What is Kathak ? 

Kathak dance is an Indian classical dance. Originally,  the Kathakars were storytellers narrating the stories of Hindu mythology.  From temple dance to court dance during the Moghol era of Northern India, Kathak gained in complexity and is now a complete art form that unites music, storytelling and poetry.
